There have been some advancements made in the understanding of overspeed and underspeed training in golf. It’s been around for a while in track and field and other sports, but when applied to golf, swinging something lighter or heavier than our club, we can start to see increases in our clubhead speed, which results in more distance.
To dabble into overspeed training, flip your driver upside down and work on making an audible whoosh near the impact area. This speed work helps your body and mind to feel the right time that you should be unleashing your power to create more distance.
