Every now and then in golf, it’s really nice to have a can’t-miss-shot, and the shot that I think of when I’m looking for that is the putt chip. It almost guarantees me that I’m going to get a good result.
The main thing I want you to think about to hit a good putt chip is level shoulders. Really get those shoulders level because you’re now using a putting motion. You’re not going to have any hinging of your wrists to get any kind of lean on the club, so you really need to have those shoulders level so that you strike it solid. Use your putter grip and close the clubface down just a little bit. This will get you an even more solid shot.
