When the ball is buried in the bunker, you can’t really put backspin. Here is a technique that allows you to have a chance of hitting it softer; play the face wide open. Lean left, open the face dramatically, pick the club up and deliver it down in the sand. The key is to not have a follow-through and stop the club in the sand. The ball pitches up and rolls out nice.
