Adding early lateral movement in the initial stages of the golf swing can serve as a great benefit to most golfers. When players begin to rotate the hips towards the target without any lateral movement, it often times causes a later sway of the hips at the top of the backswing in an effort to compensate. A subtle lateral move away from the golf ball in addition to rotation can provide the perfect blend of lateral and rotating movements in the swing.
