It is crucial to hit your putts on the correct start line. Too often, golfers focus on the cup instead of the spot where they want the ball to start, especially on breaking putts.
When approaching a putt, I square my body to the start line, not the hole. Set up two yardsticks to guide a straight putt toward your target, and use an alignment rod as a visual cue.
Practice hitting putts on that line, letting gravity do the work, instead of adjusting your stroke mid-putt.
