Once you’ve mastered the basics of the bunker shot, a great drill is to start using a lower lofted club to really engrain what’s needed. It’s an exaggerated motion, so that when you go back to your sand or lob wedge, it feels easy to hit that shot.

Going back to the basics, we know we need a wide stance, ball forward, weight into that lead thigh and that clubface to be wide open. We need to keep that face open through the entire swing as well and then accelerate through.
