If you ever feel like your trail arm gets trapped behind you in your downswing, your pelvis is most likely moving towards the ball. The best ball strikers use a small squat move in early transition that keeps their hips back but also allows them to push into the ground for power. Hitting balls with your rear end touching a dowel is a great way to feel this move. A wall works great as well for rehearsing this key movement for better ball striking.
