In my years of teaching this game, there has been a constant battle between the Physical and the Mental side of golf, and if you know me, I really don’t like using the work MENTAL when it comes to describing how someone thinks or perceives their golf game. The psychological component is definitely a factor but it’s a factor in everything we do on a day-to-day basis. These behaviour patterns will be a part of your golf game so if you’re easily frustrated at home, you’ll be easily frustrated on the course. Since golf is a physical sport, the chemical effect of a short burst of frustration can have a lasting effect, sometimes 20 or 30 minutes, so when we get this way over a shot or bad bounce, it will have a negative effect on your swing carried over to the next hole. I’ve called this a Bad Shot Hangover.
