Think of three different pin locations and three different trajectories. For a front pin, we want to have a shot that comes in nice and high. Middle pin and medium trajectory, and back pin low trajectory.

The lowest shot is going to be a short swing with a short follow-through, with not much spin. The ball is going to come out and run. A middle pin will be a medium trajectory and abbreviated swing. The ball will come out medium trajectory and a nice amount of spin and stop. And then obviously for a front pin, we want to have a full swing where we get the ball launching higher, coming in the softest.
