The key to mastering the reverse overlap grip is understanding the role of your lifeline—the line running under your thumb and through your palm. Place the lifeline of your lead hand on the inside edge of the grip, ensuring the shaft runs up your forearm for proper alignment.

Next, position the lifeline of your other hand on the last knuckle of your lead hand’s middle finger. This helps both hands connect naturally on the grip, promoting better control and stability during the stroke.

When your forearms and the shaft are aligned, it’s much easier to swing on the proper plane and make solid contact. The reverse overlap grip is simple but highly effective for improving putting consistency.
