We’ve all been told we’re thinking too hard. That’s easier said than done, all of us have given that a shot and maybe not had the most success but the quiet I drill can help with that.
You can take a sharpie and draw a little line on your ball and set it right down to where you’re looking. What I find is, if I can keep my eyes quiet where my eyes aren’t looking around and there’s just a soft gaze on that logo or line, it’s going to create this kind of calmness and this quietness within my mind and so I don’t have all those thoughts racing through it. Keep a soft gaze on that spot while you make the stroke and then look up to see what happens to the ball. Oftentimes you’re going to find you’re going to start hitting it more solid and you’re going to hole more putts.
