If you want to be a great putter, you’re going to have to be able to start the putt on the line that you’re intending. The direction the club comes into the ball isn’t nearly as important as the face angle. Use a chalk line and extend the string out to create a line on the green. The chalk line helps you tune your stroke. You’re going to use this to make sure that your stroke, and your face angle, don’t get off.
