Why You Hit Your Irons Straighter Than Your Driver

I want to talk to you about the difference between an iron and a driver. The reason why you do pretty well getting the face square with an iron and getting the face open with the driver. That happens because of two reasons; one is the length of the club and the other is the size of the head. If I choke down on an iron because my hands are so close to what I’m trying to move it’s very easy for me to move this mass. As it gets longer it gets harder for me to move this. The driver is even longer and most of the manufacturers made the heads bigger.

When using your driver, start sooner. As soon as you get to the top of your swing, with the driver, the clubface has been rotating open the whole backswing. Start rotating the face back to square so as soon as you get to the top, I want you to feel as if the club had rotated back to square.
